Scarlett and Unknown
« on: February 28, 2009, 09:13:48 PM »
I hope this is okay, but...  I have recently acquired a new foster.  She was found as a stray in OHIO >:((more and more dogs are coming into rescue from here weekly! :o :'()  They put her in a cold kennel and fed her minimally(sp?) knowing she was heavily pregnant.  They threatened to gas her and the pups if we didn't come get her NOW!  So, we did and the foster mom was so scared that she was going to give birth at her house.  She did not want to do it!!  We couldn't move her until the weekend.  I am the only rescuer that will whelp puppies.  But she was and 8 hour drive away.  She came here Saturday night severely emaciated.  I fed her and she ate it all!  Then she napped.  I didn't think she was going to whelp for another day or so beacuse she ate.  Well I was wrong!!  3 hours after arriving she gave birth to her first puppy!  Quel suprise! :o  9 hours later we had 11 babies!  One only survived until the next afternoon.  So, we have 5 girls and 5 boys!!  Unfortunately they are not full Corso.  It looks like Pittie!  We will still love and care for them, then find wonderful homes for all!!  I may even keep one!! ;D

Please support your rescue organizations and have spay and neuter contracts for ALL your pet quality puppies!  AND, micro chip them to YOU!  If your new owner turns in your pup, we can inform you about this.  Reputable breeders SHOULD want to know of this happening to a pup you produced.  Thank you for allowing me to post this, Nancy!

Thanks so much ladies!  It means a lot to me.  We are in need of more puppy raisers here so we can help more.

Hey, Ester, hows Jilly Bean?  Ready for another "foster" yet?  We could really use you!!!! ;D

Mom and pups are doing GREAT!  She is eating soooo much!!  Puppies are F-A-T. fat!

Any suggestions on what else would help her get back in shape.  I'm sure she was never in great shape to start with.  Somecody is sending me some supplement, I can't remember the name though.  Should I add a Digestive aid? Have you tried "nutri-Cal"?  She is sending that too; for the pups.

Thanks!
Karen

Pups look great!!
What part of Ohio did you get her from?
I've heard about a breeder in Southern Ohio, breeding Corsi to Pits and calling them Giant Pits or XL Pits.

They look cute; and mommy looks like a great mommy.
Great you give  this mother a place, where she could give the live to her puppies
I am always happy, when I hear that people have a true heart for dogs

Wish all the kids of this mother; a warm and loving home :-*

Just a couple new shots at 2 weeks.  Eyes are open and getting very mobile!

The tan and white one with black around eyes is quite the fuzzy one!  I wonder who his daddy is!  All the others are short coated.  Could it just be a fluke or errant gene?  We'll see how he grows up.

Awww....how cute they all are! :-* Those black circles around the eyes and ears look very interesting. I bet, he is going to be one gorgeous dog when all grown up.
My mutt was the only longhaired puppy in the litter also(7 others had short coats). Who knows - different daddys or just natures ways.....

OMG....keep those fosters away from me! I tried once and then couldn't let go. I'm clearly not made out of foster-person material ;D
But Jilly Bean is doing great - we are so happy we kept her! BTW, the name Jilly Bean stuck (from one of your posts) - we call her that when she is being good :D
