Look forward to meeting everyone :) this is my first CC was looking at the breed for awhile and had been talking to breeders with the thought of getting a puppy next year from the breeder I liked.. Just happen to be checking the breeders website for any news updates and found Adel was available 4 months old.. Just fell in love with what I saw in her eyes.. She arrived last week and I just love who she is :) Happy to found the forum, look forward to watching and absorbing as Adel and I grow..

Thank you for the welcome :) Adel is doing well in training and with my livestock on my farm very pleased what is natural in her.
My Boer gals have been testing the water since her arrival and I have enjoyed how Adel absorbed the situation with confidence concerning the first goats she has ever seen, and then taking the information she collected let the goats know she is not anything to mess with.. Very level headed, direct and in control.. And only the level of force needed.

It had started outside and she ran them up the haystack and held them there until I was done with my chores in the barn and was leaving to where she got up and started to follow me out, but did stop halfway to the door to turn and give the goats a good last stare then walked out.. which made me smile.. I had only had her for 3 weeks.. and she handled it just fine without needing my imput.. :) I had been watching the goats feeling braver and braver over the days, and admire Adel for just collecting information watching their antics always confident sitting there just watching.

impressed for not being easily offended and very steady,, when she was ready to come up and meet my llamas for the first time wanting to sniff them,, the one llama spit on her and it didn't bother her a bit except to blink.. Llama spit 3 times in her face and she just took it in stride to get the close smell of the creature she wanted (900lb creature to an almost 5 month old pup who never seen such things) and she was calm and steady about it. I will remember that moment watching the interaction forever about her...
For all my experience in years of working with GSD's in the fear defensive area, am wondering if the CC's that are having social issues are not all because of lack of socializing, but due to over socializing to the point of forced socializing in ways that are against the true nature of the breed.. Adel has had a great start from her breeder about humans feel lucky she has a great foundation to work with. :)

Great pics... I always tell the story.. of how a good trainer we had, use to have my girlfriend work with our Cane, while she was holding a baby goat... He always talked about setting the dog up to fail and being there for correction... It always does make me laugh when some one will be like "oh our dog doesn't listen cause of this or that" shows the importance of working around distractions... by the way.. love the brindle... but then again I'm partial...T
