Hi Tom,
I am very happy to see that my favourite vet joined us! :-*
For everybody. Tom (and his father) make the best HD x-rays, with the dog possitioned as straight as possible. He also has a technique to fix knees with torn cruciate ligaments with a very fast and good recovery. And.......... not as expensive as TPLO or TTA. ;D
He can of course do much more than only that. ;)

well Tom,i would find it very usfull if we had some method of comparing different types of scores. When i want to get import dogs the generally are rated A,B C etc..How would this method compare to a pennhip score with a Distraction Index eg. 90th percentile = A or in your opinion would an A be =70-80th percentile just wondering how hard this dogs are scored in comparison to having a actual number or score to go by.
Thanks Paul
-
Well, thats the thing! You cannot compare those two results. because in some breeds you can have a dog with bad hips, ie for ex a D, but this one can be on a pennhipscale compared to other dogs from the same breed be in the 90th percentile, because the whole breed is bad.
If you really want to compare, but in fact it is not possible , you need to evaluate the pennhipscore and not the percentile, so a DI of less than 0,3 could be HDA. But pennhip doesn´t work like that
-
Don't forget the false negatives. Dogs that have A scores, but not a great DI at all......... Or no A due to a lower norberg, but a DI that is lower than 0.3 ::)

yes, you cannot compare appelen met peren either!
